Saudi Artist Partners with Harrods for Ramadan and Eid Campaign

April 2, 2025

In a celebration of art, culture, and tradition, renowned Saudi calligrapher Mawadah Muhtasib has teamed up with Harrods, the iconic London department store, for its 2025 Ramadan and Eid campaign. This marks the third consecutive year that Harrods has partnered with an Arab calligraphy artist, reinforcing the growing global recognition of Arabic calligraphy as both an art form and cultural bridge.

Muhtasib is widely recognized for her contemporary approach to Arabic calligraphy, particularly her use of Muthana (mirror writing) and reverse script techniques, which infuse a modern edge into a centuries-old art form. Her work seamlessly balances tradition and innovation, reimagining classical calligraphy styles for modern audiences without losing their cultural essence.

Exclusive Designs for Harrods

For this collaboration, Muhtasib created two original designs, each blending her signature script with intricate Islamic-inspired floral patterns.

The first piece, designed for Ramadan, carries the message “Ramadan Kareem” set against a deep blue background, evoking the spiritual serenity associated with the holy month.

The second design, celebrating Eid, features “Eid Mubarak” in vibrant shades of pink, capturing the joy and warmth of the festive season.

Muhtasib’s artwork will feature prominently throughout Harrods during the Ramadan and Eid celebrations, appearing in window displays, digital greetings, social media content, and across the renowned Knightsbridge food halls.

Her designs will also appear on Harrods’ exclusive Eid gifting packaging, adding a personal, artistic touch to the store’s seasonal offerings.

Celebrating Arab Art on a Global Stage

Muhtasib’s collaboration with Harrods is another milestone moment for Saudi artists gaining international recognition, showcasing how Saudi creativity and cultural heritage can seamlessly blend with luxury retail and global campaigns.

As Harrods continues to embrace regional artistry, Muhtasib’s distinctive style ensures Arabic calligraphy remains at the heart of cultural storytelling, connecting global audiences to the beauty and depth of Saudi culture.
