This marks a notable six percent increase compared to the previous year, according to the Ministry of Tourism’s recently released 2024 Annual Statistical Report.
The report highlights the sector’s resilience and ongoing expansion as a critical component of Saudi Vision 2030.
Total tourism spending for both domestic and inbound travel surged to around SR 284 billion (USD 75 billion), reflecting an impressive 11 percent growth year-over-year.
Saudi Arabia achieved its highest-ever number of inbound tourists, with nearly 30 million visitors recorded in 2024, an increase of eight percent from 2023, the report highlights.
Inbound tourism spending alone reached SR 168.5 billion (USD 47 billion), a remarkable 19 percent rise compared to the prior year.
Domestic tourism also flourished, with 86.2 million domestic tourists contributing to the overall growth.
This segment saw a five percent increase from the previous year, with domestic tourism spending climbing to SR 115.3 billion (USD 30 billion) in 2024.
Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb attributed this strong performance to the guidance and support of the Kingdom’s leadership, underscoring tourism’s role as a key enabler of the nation’s development goals.
