Kimpton is Opening First Middle East Hotel in Riyadh’s KAFD

July 10, 2025

The Kimpton brand has officially arrived in the Middle East, with its debut property set to open in Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD). Public bookings for the hotel, which features 212 rooms and suites, will be available from 1 September 2025.

Located in one of Riyadh’s most prominent business and lifestyle hubs, the new hotel brings Kimpton’s globally recognised hospitality model to the heart of the Saudi capital. Positioned within walking distance of KAFD’s Grand Mosque and minutes away from key destinations like Riyadh Boulevard and the Riyadh Front Conference & Exhibition Center, the property aims to serve both business and leisure travellers.

The hotel offers a mix of facilities, including an outdoor pool, fitness centre, and four on-site dining venues. Guests will have access to a range of experiences, from laid-back café settings to more refined dining options.

A Focus on Dining

The hotel introduces several new culinary concepts to the area. Botanica serves seasonal à la carte dishes that blend international and local flavours, designed for both casual diners and those marking special occasions. Vinyl Ember offers American cuisine in a more intimate setting, combining comfort dishes with contemporary presentation.

For lighter fare, Ziya Lounge in the hotel’s lobby features a menu of signature sweet and savoury tarts paired with specialty coffees and teas. Meanwhile, Kanza Pool Bar caters to guests looking to unwind outdoors, serving snacks and drinks against a backdrop of city views.

Design and Setting

True to Kimpton’s signature approach, the hotel has placed emphasis on design and service. Rooms and public spaces are described as curated and personalised, with interiors that aim to balance comfort with visual identity. The property is integrated into KAFD’s pedestrian-friendly urban landscape, allowing easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

The opening marks IHG Hotels & Resorts’ latest investment in the region’s growing tourism and hospitality sector, in line with Saudi Arabia’s broader strategy to develop and diversify its visitor economy.

With Riyadh continuing to expand its offering as both a commercial and cultural destination, the arrival of Kimpton adds to the city’s growing list of internationally branded hotels.
