Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and French President Emmanuel Macron attended the closing ceremony of the 2026 Esports World Cup in Paris on Sunday, 23 August.
The event’s first two editions were held in Riyadh, while the 2026 edition was moved to Paris for the first time.
The temporary relocation took place after the organizers cited the need for a new setting amid regional geopolitical tensions resulting in Paris being announced as host back in May 2026.
Over seven weeks of competition beginning 3 July, the Esports World Cup attracted more than 2,000 players and 200 clubs from more than 100 countries.
The tournament was broadcasted across multiple platforms, with coverage extending to 160 countries.
On the final day, Chinese club All Gamers and Anyone’s Legend (AG.AL) claimed the title, defeating two-time defending champions Team Falcons from Saudi Arabia.
Macron then presented the Esports World Cup trophy to AG.AL at the ceremony at the Grand Palais.
Additionally, further plans were outlined for the Esports World Cup to return to Riyadh next year, with the event scheduled to be back in Saudi Arabia in 2027.
