Dr. Edyta Wolny-Ibrahim
Dr. Edyta Wolny-Ibrahim is currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University in Saudi Arabia. She earned her BA, MA, and Ph.D. in Arabic and Islamic Studies and Literary Studies from the University of Warsaw (Poland). Her academic journey reflects a deep and evolving engagement with the Arab world, both in terms of language and culture. Her research interests are broad and interdisciplinary, encompassing topics such as the teaching of Islam in primary schools, Arabic popular and mass culture — particularly during Ramadan — contemporary patriotic music in Egypt, globalization in the Arab world, and the dynamics of everyday life across Arab societies. Since 2014, she has been teaching both Modern Standard Arabic and the Egyptian dialect to diverse student groups. She is fluent in Arabic (including Egyptian dialect), English, and Polish, and has functional knowledge of French and Turkish. She also studied German intensively and was fluent until 2010. In recognition of her contributions to Arabic language education abroad, Dr. Wolny-Ibrahim was awarded the honorary title of “Ambassador of the Egyptian Initiative: Etkallem Arabi in Poland” by the Egyptian Minister of Emigration in 2022. This cultural initiative, launched under the patronage of President Abd al-Fattah As-Sisi, aims to promote Arabic among Egyptian expatriates and international audiences. Driven by curiosity and a passion for cross-cultural exchange, she is always open to new opportunities that would allow her to further expand her impact in Arabic language education, Middle Eastern studies, and intercultural dialogue.
