To enhance the visitor experience in the Jeddah Historic District, the Saudi Ministry of Culture has launched a dedicated application called Al-Balad that offers innovative interactive services.
The newly launched app enables users to effectively plan their routes through the historic district, receive real-time activity alerts, and access a wealth of historical content that deepens their understanding of the area’s landmarks.
Al-Balad is designed to enrich the overall visitor experience and make it easier to navigate and appreciate the cultural heritage that Al-Balad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has to offer.
This app is integral to the broader project, which seeks to transform Al-Balad into a lively urban center that reflects its rich historical spirit while positioning it as a prominent global cultural and tourist destination.
The initiative is part of the broader Historic Jeddah Revitalization Project, which is sponsored by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Such a project underscores the Ministry’s commitment to preserving the district’s urban heritage while also elevating its cultural profile both locally and internationally.
By establishing Al-Balad as a hub for businesses, cultural initiatives, and entrepreneurship, the project focuses on creating an inviting atmosphere for visitors and residents alike.
