Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has officially announced on 8 October the launch of its first daily flights to London Heathrow Airport, starting 26 October.

Utilizing the Boeing 787-9 aircraft, Riyadh Air will operate daily flights connecting Riyadh with London Heathrow.

The inaugural flight RX401 is scheduled to depart King Khalid International Airport at 3:15 a.m., arriving in London at 7:30 a.m. The return flight will leave London at 9:30 a.m., landing back in Riyadh at 7:15 p.m.

Initially, ticket sales will be limited at first to select passenger groups, including employees of Riyadh Air, as part of a structured operational program aimed at ensuring the airline’s readiness ahead of receiving its first new aircraft from Boeing.

CEO Tony Douglas emphasized the significance of this launch, stating, “This is more than just the launch of a route; it is the realization of our vision to connect the Kingdom with the world as a driving force of Saudi Vision 2030.”

He further noted that the airline’s commitment to operational excellence is evident in the meticulous planning of its flight program.

In conjunction with the flight launch, Riyadh Air introduced its innovative loyalty program, “Sfeer,” designed to redefine customer engagement in global aviation.

This program will offer exclusive benefits to its founding members, allowing them to share Level Points with friends and family, thereby fostering a sense of community and shared experiences.

Registration for “Sfeer” is now open, and early registrants will be granted “Founding Member” status, enabling them to access bookings for Riyadh Air’s inaugural flights and enjoy additional exclusive benefits.

As Riyadh Air gears up for its first flight, the airline’s vision to serve over 100 destinations by 2030 is becoming increasingly tangible, positioning Saudi Arabia as a key player in the global aviation landscape.
