Manga Arabia has announced it will begin publishing Korean webtoons translated into Arabic, furthering its efforts to deliver authorized, high-quality content to young readers across the Arab world. The announcement comes as the company continues to grow its presence in both regional and international creative content markets.
The new webtoons will be featured in Manga Arabia Youth, one of the publisher’s two main titles alongside Manga Arabia Kids. The stories—Return of the Doctor, Plants Human, and A Compendium of Ghosts—are being made available through partnerships with Korean production houses Kidari Studio and V-Bros.
By bringing Korean webtoons to Arabic-speaking audiences, Manga Arabia is aiming to provide fresh content while addressing the widespread challenge of piracy by ensuring content is delivered through official, licensed platforms. Webtoons, with their vertical-scroll digital format and accessible storylines, have become particularly popular among younger generations worldwide.
What is Manga Arabia
Manga Arabia, launched in 2021 as part of the Saudi Research and Media Group (SRMG), has steadily built a strong following. Its digital platforms have reached over 12 million users in more than 195 countries, while its print distribution network spans more than 220 locations across the Arab world. Monthly, over a quarter of a million physical copies are circulated.
The company has made clear its ambitions to play a leading role in shaping the Arabic creative content landscape. Alongside its publishing work, it recently established Manga International in Tokyo, a dedicated arm that supports global expansion and deepens ties with content creators in Japan and beyond.
Earlier this month, Manga Arabia also signed a deal with Japanese publisher Coamix, gaining rights to translate and publish some of its most recognisable manga series in Arabic. The agreement is a continuation of the company’s broader goal to make top-tier global content accessible to Arab readers.
Manga Arabia’s mission focuses on fostering creativity, promoting reading among youth, and enriching Arabic-language media. By offering officially licensed Korean webtoons and deepening its relationships with international content creators, the company is carving out a central role in the evolving comic and digital storytelling space.
