More than half of female internet users in Saudi Arabia are using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, outpacing men as AI adoption across the Kingdom more than doubled over the past year, according to the Saudi Internet Report 2025 released by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST).
The report found that 45.2 percent of internet users in Saudi Arabia now use AI tools, with adoption reaching 52.8 percent among women, compared to 39.4 percent among men.
Searching for information was the most common use of AI, with 80.8 percent of users relying on AI tools for search. Other popular uses included generating ideas (40.1 percent) and study and education (37.7 percent).
Women reported higher usage across several practical and creative applications, including study and education, creating images, videos and presentations, language translation, and programming tasks. However, AI use for search, writing, and idea generation was nearly identical between men and women.
The report also found that AI adoption was highest among younger internet users, with 55.7 percent of users aged 20 to 29 reporting that they use AI tools, followed by 53.4 percent of users aged 10 to 19.
The findings come as Saudi Arabia continues to expand its digital transformation efforts. According to the report, internet penetration reached 99.6 percent in 2025, while 96 percent of users accessed government digital services. The most downloaded AI applications included ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and DeepSeek.
